Sonoma, California (January 18, 2009) - After seven exciting racing seasons STaSIS Motorsports has ended its A4 Touring Car program in preparation for a more advanced program as economc conditions improve. STaSIS Motorsports is selling several race-winning cars along with a variety of racing support equipment .
STaSIS thanks all past sponsors, including Clearcapital, Mahle Powertrain, ProMPI, Pfaff Tuning, and the many Audi dealerships around the country that supported the success of STaSIS Motorsports.
The STaSIS Motorsports team actively competed in World Challenge Touring for seven seasons. The team built and competed with three generations of Audi A4 touring cars. Competitive from their debut, STaSIS provided Audi with its first U.S. Touring Car victory (in the team's fourth race) and went on to capture more than 30 podiums.
The third-generation STaSIS Audi A4 touring cars amassed 17 podiums and 5 victories over two years, with Chip Herr reaching victory more often than any other driver in the series. In the pursuit of new driving talent, STaSIS championed many young drivers in their quest for professional careers. John Angelone, Chip Herr and Adam Pecorari all saw their first professional motorsports victories with STaSIS Motorsports.
According to STaSIS Motorsports President Paul Lambert STaSIS is seeking its next challenge.
“With the success and experience gained in Touring Car, our team has prepared itself to tackle the most challenging forms of Motorsports,” Lambert said. “Competition is the fabric of our culture, and we will continue to look for ways to showcase our technical prowess in professional competition.”
The racing technology developed for these three generations of Audi touring cars lives on in the STaSIS Engineering Signature Series available in dealerships around the country. Many of the engineers employed by STaSIS Motorsports have taken positions in the STaSIS Engineering road car development center. Their passion for motorsports and competition will fuel the next generation of dominant Audi street cars.
